Raynor King Memorial Stages Rally - August

The Raynor King Memorial Stages Rally was run in
the humid cane fields of Frome, Georges Plain,
Westmoreland on Sunday, August 20, 2006, and was
a day full of thrilling and daring displays of
driving skill and excitement.
Total commitment was the name of the
game from the beginning, as the third rally in
the five event JMMC / Petcom / Digicel National
Rally Championship Series visited western
Jamaica for the second time, but unlike the
season opening Lloyd’s of Montego Bay/Mountain
Dew Tarmac Stages Rally held in March, this time
the eighteen (18) crews that turned up for the
start of the event were prepared to tackle not
the smooth tarmac stages like Daniel Town but
the equally fast marl roads of the Jamaica Sugar
Company, as the first dirt rally of the season
got underway.

Curry Festival 2006 -

Curry Festival was held on the
grounds of Manning’s School in
Savanna-la-mar on April 30th,
2006. It was an extraordinary
event highlighting some of the
country’s finest cooks preparing a
variety of curry dishes ranging
from our own local Mutton, Shrimp,
Crab, Conch, Lobster to the
unusual Jackfruit, Egg, Tripe
(intestine) Ice-Cream, Locus
(stinking toe), Nasberry, Mango
and other fruit kind.
