Could it be oil?
A startling occurrence has left property owner, Radcliff Barrett, wondering if he has discovered the precious commodity of oil on his property in Ramble, Hanover.
In speaking to the Western Mirror, Mr. Barrett said sometime in the last week of March, he was clearing a section of his property and was burning some bush close to where a pond was once situated as it had dried up leaving just dirt.
He said the fire somehow caught on the dirt of the pond and burnt constantly for three days on nothing but the dirt.
He has since theorized that it could be that there is oil not far from the surface and he also said that some years ago, some tests were ran for oil near a main road close to his property, but the persons carrying out the tests did not venture close enough to his property.
Mr. Barrett has since been fencing the area and is now going about getting the area tested for confirmation that oil is actually present.
