Nellie Roxx – Featured Artist
Born Janel Jackson is what you would call a disciple of music. Hailing from New Hope Westmoreland, she grew up with her and grandparents and uncles who all encouraged her to be diverse and go into music. She was introduced to different instruments, such as: the trumpet, the flute, piano & recorder. She was attending Mannings High School, she continued music through song writing and poetry.
In early 2008, got acquainted with Tomi Trouble, now manager, a selector from Equlibrium Sound in Portmore, Jamaica. “Fresh To Death” which had an old school Hip Hop feel to it captured Tomi’s attention. By this time, she knew the basics of mixing down a song since all the tracks that she had made thus far were recorded by herself at home. So far, so good , her future in music took a turn for the best when she was introduced to Waiting In Vain riddim created by the versatile Smokeshop from Smokeshop Studios in Canada. “Got Me Saying (Uh Oh)” was the first track that got recognition and airplay on radio stations such as Linkz FM by DJ Sani Ranks (in Savanna La Mar, Jamaica) and 876radio.com on the internet. She definately plans to set Jamaica on fire.
